WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER A TREATMENT?
Post-treatment, you may experience tingling, redness, and dryness — all normal
reactions that typically last between 1–7 days as the skin’s renewal process
accelerates. Mild peeling may begin around day 3. Results can often be seen as
soon as 7 days after treatment.
AFTERCARE TIPS
For tingling, heat, or redness: splash with cool water or gently apply wrapped
ice cubes to soothe.
If the skin begins to welt: take an antihistamine to reduce the reaction.
Be aware: swelling is a normal part of the process and indicates that collagen
production is underway.
Itchiness (usually from day 2–3): this is a sign of new collagen forming and is not a cause for concern.

AFTER CARE
•After a treatment it is recommended that no AHA, BHA or Retinol products be used for 7 days post-treatment.
•On day 2 gentle actives such as, Vitamin C, Hyaluronic Acid, Niacinamide, growth factor, etc, can be introduced.
•Avoid swimming, saunas and tanning products. We suggest using SPF only from Day 2, so avoid sun exposure and wear a hat on day 1.
DAY 1
Following your treatment DO NOT touch your skin or cleanse. It is normal for the skin to feel flushed, itchy and hot with a sensation of the needles in the skin. This is a sign the treatment is working. To relieve these symptoms, you can:
a) Splash with cool water
b) Apply a sheet mask with gentle actives, like HA.
c) Ice the face.
If the skin feels dry you may use your Repair Gel or moisturiser, e.g. GERnetic Synchro.
Avoid sun exposure and wear a hat if outside.
DAY 2
You may experience the following symptoms - don’t be alarmed, it is normal. Tingling and needling feeling will last for up to 72 hours. The skin will be extremely dry after the treatment. More hydration will help the skin recover. Using a facial sheet mask is suggested, e.g. Sequential Skin Biome Mask
Redness: can occur as the dead skin cells are renewed.
Dryness: the skin can be dry for a few days up to 2 weeks following treatment. The skin cell renewal process has occurred and may need supplementary moisture.
Itching: Itchiness is your body’s natural response in the healing phase:
Acne: (Purging) For acne-prone skin a large number of acne and closed acne may be discharged on the third day. This is normal and nothing to worry about, we call this purging. DA
DAY 2 CONT
AM: Rinse with cool water - no cleanser - apply Repair Gel or moisturiser, e.g. GERnetic Synchro. Commence use of your gentle actives, if desired.
SPF can be worn or limit sun exposure.
PM: Rinse with water - apply Repair Gel or moisturiser, e.g. GERnetic Synchro.
DAYS 3 TO 6
After approximately 72 hours, the spicules will naturally fall out of the skin, causing the skin to peel at the same time. Skin peeling will start from the third day. DO NOT tear it but let it fall off naturally. It is normal for thick and oily skin not to peel. You may experience the following symptoms, which are all normal:
Peeling: due to the build up of old skin cells, there will be varying degrees of skin renewal and peeling in different skin conditions.
Redness: can occur when dead skin cells are renewed.
Dryness: the skin can be dry for a few days up to 2 weeks following treatment. The skin cell renewal process has occurred and may need supplementary moisture.
Tightness: As the skin heals, the skin can feel tight and dry.
Acne: (Purging) For acne-prone skin a large number of acne and closed acne may be discharged on the third day. This is normal and nothing to worry about, we call this purging.
AM: Cleanse with gentle cleanser - apply Repair Gel or moisturiser, e.g. Synchro. Gentle actives can be used. Apply SPF. You can apply make-up from Day 3 if skin discomfort has disappeared. If the skin is peeling or feels very tight, we suggest the use of an enzymatic exfoliator such as Nimue Exfoliating Enzyme. Apply as a mask for 2 minutes and gently massage.
PM: Cleanse with gentle cleanser - apply Repair Gel or moisturizer (Synchro) plus your gentle actives if required.
DAY 7 - 10
You may start to reintroduce your actives and resume your normal skincare routine. The skin may still experience:
Dryness: the skin can be dry for a few days up to 2 weeks following treatment. The skin cell renewal process has occurred and may need supplementary moisture.
Peeling: due to the build-up of old skin cells, there will be varying degrees of skin renewal and peeling in different skin Conditions
IMORTANT INFORMATION
The above aftercare is a gold standard in skin recovery after liquid needling and achieving the maximum results. However, we understand that for many, not cleansing or wearing makeup is not preferred. If you feel the need to cleanse your skin before day 3, this may be done, BUT cleansing the skin will remove the spicules before the 72 hours and may inhibit the result. Tinted SPF, concealer and minimal make-up can be worn from day 3 if you find it unavoidable.

HOW MANY SESSIONS ARE RECOMMENDED?
VitaSpicule by SpongillaTech treatment will achieve good results after 4-6
sessions. However, for optimal results, we recommend a series of treatments

HOW LONG IS TREATMENT & RECOVERY TIME?
